Unhappy Sailnet is S-L-O-W....

New today - every page takes over a minute to load.

But, while waiting, I can look at the message "Waiting for site msite.martiniadnetwork.com..." in the lower left corner of my Chrome browser while waiting. (It makes me think of martini's )

I've experienced similar things from time to time.. it always seems to clear up within an hour or so.. Clearly it's ad related, but not sure if it's due to ad updates/site maintenance or perhaps an issue with the server that provides the ad links.

Agree it's annoying - if it persists generally admin will take that ad down until they fix it.

Haven't seen this today myself..

Ditto, but 6 hrs ago. If your experience was 3 hrs ago, they didn't get to fixing it very fast.

It is fine for me at the moment.

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

At multiple times during the day our databases are backed up. We do this while the website is running and there are users online. During the times certain tables in the databases are locked while that particular table is backed up and this will cause the site to respond very slowly (depending on the table) being backed up.

We prefer this method as opposed to shutting the site down for about 10 minutes multiples times each day while the backups are running.

If the common request is to shut the site down as opposed to enduring a 10 minutes of slow running we will consider that, but since the search engines that scour the site constantly for content look harshly upon sites that are down multiple times during the day in terms of reducing their search engine ranking we prefer to leave the site up and running.

Not a common problem on other sites.
