Edel 820 Help Required

Hi Sailnet, I am based in England and am the proud new owner of an Edel 820. We don't have many of these in little ol England but I understand there are quite a few in North America. I am hoping to get any info on the class from skippers experiences but in particular I am looking for advice on the cockpit floor. My yacht has a removable cockpit floor which is only retained by two small latches at the hatchway end with the other end just fitting under a couple of blocks on the bulkhead. It does not seem that secure to me especially in a sea. Anybody had any experience of this situation and how did they modify the floor to improve security. Hope you can help!
