Sailing experience on Seafarer 22

Looking for info about this boat:
How do they sail?
Rudder behavior and best sail combination?
What conditions and seas they can handle?

Much appreciated

Re: Sailing experience on Seafarer 22

No experience on one here, but note there seem to be a "regular" version and a shoal-draft version:

The lines drawing of the regular version, with deeper keel and rudder, looks like she would sail pretty nicely, McCurdy and Rhodes designs generally do, not racehorses but good handlers. If you like beating upwind without sideslipping all over the place, definitely don't get the trailerable model.

As a guess, good pocket cruiser, meaning sustained winds under say 20 knots, and seas not much over 4 feet (wave period is more relevant in a way than wave amplitude). I don't know about sail combinations.

Re: Sailing experience on Seafarer 22

Thank you. I was hoping to get more info from current owners but I understand it's not a very popular boat vs other 22ftrs like Catalina. I was still able to search the forum and find few but good feedback.
Cheers!
