Launchable trailer for 1979 Seafarer 23 HP

Hi,

I wonder if there is anyone there who has experience launching Seafarer 23 HP with 3 ft fixed keel off a trailer directly into water? I own such boat and I am looking for such trailer to buy, preferrably used one as new one costs about $4,500.

I would appreciate if anyone would share his/her experiences regarding the entire process of launching this boat, how difficult it is, what trailer he/she has used, what features trailer should have to make this process doable, and any recommendations regarding towing such trailer with the boat on a highway, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Check out the post "1975 Seafarer 22 Refurb." The owner has a few photos of his boat on a launchable trailer. I think you mentioned that you have a Seafarer 29'. I also have a 29' with a swing keel, and would be very hesitant to launch it off a trailer. You'll have to have an extension of at least 12' to hook between your vehicle and trailer just to get the trailer far enough in the water to float the boat. While launching may be possible, getting the boat out is going to be far more difficult for a boat this size.
