VSC examiner in Alameda, CA

Has anyone in Alameda had a Voluntary Safety Check (VSC) recently, and if so, can you recommend an examiner? As well as the VSC requirements which I have checked and should be in order, I would like to pick up any tips on non-compulsory equipment from them.

Re: VSC examiner in Alameda, CA

I'm not from that area but both the USCG Auxiliary and the US Power and Sail Squadron provide vessel safety checks. Both of their websites have links to locate your nearest one.

The decal is slightly different (I think) but the list of required and recommended equipment is the same.

In the meantime, the Virtual VSC might give you the information you're looking for.

I recommend giving Tradewinds in Richmond a call. They have an instructor who is a great guy and will do the inspection. Not sure if he goes to Alameda but if not he will tell you who your local guy is.
