mooring bridal plate - monohull

Hi,
I'm designing a storm mooring for my 42 Jeanneau in Puerto Rico.

The anchorage has decent protection (3 sides) inside the San Juan Bay channel.

The 1 mile channel presents the only main concern when storm winds come from the West. North and South are 8 ft sea walls then the bridge and marinas to the East offer good buffering and little chance for wave build up. Storm surge is not a major concern due to the location and physical obstructions (except possibly from the west through the channel). In speaking with the harbor pilots and masters its a good hurricane hole.

Anyway, my design calls for dual pennants (17,000 lb loading each) and would like to know if anyone recommends using a mooring bridal system vs two shackles to the anchor rode?

Thank you, Brian
