Singlehanded Winning Attitude Study is Complete

I have finished my study on “How to Maintain a Winning Attitude for the Duration of a Long Distance Singlehanded Race” based on the 2012 SH Transpac. Seven of the racers completed twice daily surveys on their moods, attitudes and how aggressively they sailed. I compared this with a study completed by racers in the crewed Vic-Maui.

You can find the complete study in Chapter 8-B of my book “Thoughts, Tips, Techniques & Tactics for Singlehanded Sailing – Third Edition” available as a free download at Singlehanded Tips Book

As always, questions and comments are welcome.

Thumbs up Re: Singlehanded Winning Attitude Study is Complete

Thank you for all your thoughtful work. I enjoyed the last edition, and have downloaded this addition to review as well. Learned much from your experiences and research that would have been painful or difficult to learn "on the job" as the saying goes. While you will rarely fine two single-hand sailors that do the same thing in the the same way (or admit to it), I have found your work immensely helpful and insightful as someone just starting out on the single-handed pathway.

Re: Singlehanded Winning Attitude Study is Complete

Andrew,

Thanks for posting your work. I downloaded your book and will take time to read it. I have been mentally preparing the logistics for my solo voyage for the last 10 years. I am sure I will compare your notes with mine.

Thanks again.
