Considering the tight controls the respective Governments are placing on "housing" their children, I suspect you''ll find it very difficult convincing government reps that your intentions are pure. Asking to be granted permission to "house" children on a boat may be seen as a way to kidnap them.

If you really want to help, give lots of cash, and if you can - get there by plane (which you paid the airfare for), and volunteer to help as needed.

I concur that sending money is probably the quickest and most efficient way to send aid.
And I would like to add that while we are all rushing to send aid across the globe--and yes, they do need the aid and the devastation is great--not to forget the local shelters in our communities. The spotlight is off the local need, but every day the Red Cross, Salvation Army and many other fantastic local organizations are helping people in our own communities deal with tragedies such as fire, homelessness and hunger. Spread the wealth with your giving. Aggie
