I saw the recent thread about celestial naviagation and thought I'd through this into the mix. Noonsites and dead reckoning are good skills for everyone to have and they are easy!
I've created a way to do dead reckoning using 2 tables instead of graphically. You just use your distance traveled and true heading, then compute from the tables your change in Lat and Lon.
Also for celestial naviagation, I've created a page that computes the time of noon at 0deg long for any date. This let's you compute noon sites quickly. And you can use my webpage to generate a year's worth of noonsite data that fits in 2 pages all for FREE. It's also extremely accurate for decades of predictions.
The pages provide some explinations and examples and links to other information regarding emergancy navigation.
