stay out of the TSS
Good day,
Take my advice and stay outside the TSS's, you are allowed in the coastal shipping area as long as your boat is smaller than 20 meters. Big ships see you late and are often restricted in manoevring by draft. Your radar reflector only shows you in good weather and not with windforce 4 or more, and then I am speaking of a very good radar.
Also, rely on your own planning, not somebody elses. If you are not ready to make your own voyage planning, stay home! Things can always change and you be able to cope on your own, there is nobody out there to help!.
The best newest aid to navigation in the busy areas is AIS, where you know the nams of the ships around you and what there doing. A receiver starts just under the 400 euro.
Good luck,
John
