Knot Suggestion Needed

Thats what I call a Double Fisherman's Bend and yes it would be the best knot. I added it as an after thought because my mind went blank and I could not think of its name at first.

A double fisherman's bend takes another turn on each side, using a lot more rope. I just tried the (single) fisherman's bend and it looks like it'll do the trick. (You've got to get the orientation of each side right for them to jam well, tho.) Thanks for the idea, SD.

What you really ought to use is the interwoven-doublebraided-triple slip-highland-twisted-haggis-bag-truckers hitch- sheep-shank-fraid-knot and should that fail go with the bowline.

Just had a similar situation, and after tying a figure-eight bend recalled this thread. The application is running a new halyard and used the figure-eight bend to tie three consecutive rings of light line through the winch end of the halyard on which to tie the messenger line. There is also a similar figure-eight loop, but I used the bend.
