The point about the shock loading caused by large parachute sea anchors is still one that can't be avoided, regardless of how well backed and large the attachment points are. Personally, I would prefer not to subject myself or my boat to those kinds of loads. Based on my friends' experience and comments, I chose to go with a Jordan Series Drogue... I believe it has a far better track record than do the parachute sea anchors, especially for lighter multihulls.

Given the size of my welded in bollards (please, no jokes), and the type of stern I have, I believe I would be a better candidate for the JSD than a para-anchor. Many of the forces and shapes on a full keeler with a high stern are opposite to those of a catamaran, unless it's the wrong sort of catamaran to be at sea in the first place (ones with large, flat, sliding "patio doors" instead of a bridgedeck).
