The idea of the Sentinals on the
anchor chain ahead of the
anchor was to keep the pull on the
rode more horizontal, thereby in effect, increasing scope for a given amount of
rode. Using multiple Sentinals allowed someone without the arm strength of Arnie Swartzenegger to handle the weights more easily. This weight reduction is not available to the person with a heavey length of chain or a heavier
anchor. It gives you more options. The idea was to use the weights in only certain storm situations, giving a better holding assurance for a certain size
anchor.Of course you should have more than one
anchor weight and type, I just think that this idea would give you more options. Just out of curiosity, has anyone out there ever made their own
anchor?
