Or beware of charter boats.
On crowded anchorages you never know when an inexperienced sailor is going to put its anchor crossing your chain.
Once while I was having a nice meal I felt my boat moving. Turned out that a guy was pulling my anchor out of the bottom while trying to retrieve his anchor (he had tried to anchor several times).
I said to this "Captain" that he was pulling my anchor from the bottom. The Captain said: no way. Soon both anchors were out of water, mine tangled up with his. I had to put the engine on and my wife at the wheel I had to go with the dinghy to help untangle that mess to put my anchor back on the water.
I don't know what would have happened if I was not on board
