Landsick?

I've never met anyone else that has this issue, but frankly, I'm tired of it. Every time I go out for a few days, and it's a little bumpy, I'm perfectly fine until I make it back. This was it's worst ever last week. We got back inside the chanel,and I started to feel a little queezy. This is normaly the extent of it, but after we got back in the slip, I started to walk up to the truck to meet up with the admiral, and my bottle-o-scotch. I made it maybe 4 slips from the boat, and I was feeling quite queezy, and light headed. Luckily I made it to the marina's head before my breakfast "unshiped itself". Is there anyone else out there who gets sick when things stop moving? If so is there anything I can do/take to help.

I use bonine, but that's for when I'm out. I'm sure it would work to keep you from yacking when you're on the dock as well.

I'm sorry, I probobly should have noted that I have tried dramamine, bonine, the patch, and those silly brcelets. The guy in the stink pot beside me at the marina thinks it's "efing wierd in a funny way" to watch me get off the boat and turn green.

Not really, if the regular seasick remedies don't help, not much else will. Have you tried eating ginger products, or drinking real ginger ale?? That may help.

I used to fly some really long hours and when we would get back on the tarmac I would almost immediately get sick to my stomach. You can imagine the ribbing I would get from everyone. So about 20 minutes before we would land I would open up that bottle of pedialite and drink it down. And when we landed I would drink down that flat 7-UP I had in my ditch bag. Once I started that routine I rarely saw the land sickness again.

Maybe this could work for you...maybe not?

You may suffer from "Mal de debarqment" a little known or understood balance disorder. It's believed to be caused because at sea you use vision to establish level more than on land and it can take the brain a while to "reset" the various inputs for level on land.

Youre not the only one. I get bad landsickness after being a few days at sea. My landsickness sometimes lasts for 2 or more days especially after a long passage.

Yes indeed its a 'visual' enhanced balance disorder ... I have some middle ear problems and do often focus/visualize the horizon or a prominent constellation at night when at sea. I can also tell long before any queeziness from either land or seasickness begins .... I can 'feel' it in my eyes.
