JomsViking is on a distinguished road
To check the boxes for me, it would need to be a certified liferaft, as that is required for offshore racing (it's not), sail and especially row well (it can't. As tager stated: it has high topsides). Be rugged (It's made of HDPE, and my experience with the durability of that material is not the best)
YMMV

How much does one of those run fully decked out? Last I saw it was upwards of 8k, correct? Seems you could take a fiberglass hulled sailing dinghy and make many, many mods for that much. Self-bailing valves? Retractable amas?

Smack I was not trying to start a debate; I was poking fun at your sailboat of choice! Are you going to take it coastal or do you plan a circumnav?!?!

I thought the correct term was chubby not pudgy...

Keel - I have no interest in circumnavigating. I just want to sail around warm places and have fun. That'll be plenty to help me maintain my Pudgy for many years.

I just may, however, have the opportunity to crew on a VO70 sailing around Cape Horn this winter. Serious long shot - but we'll see. I wonder if they'll have a Pudgy.

Not THAT would be a BFS!

Naah... If it's a race they will have the required IASF/SOLAS certified liferaft(s); packed for minimal weight.

No kidding. Like I said, it's a serious long shot - but we're talking.

If it happens, I can promise that I will be crying like a schoolgirl.
