Cel Nav- Nautical Almanac: V corr or SHA for Jupiter

I have had this question brewing and I really need help figuring it out.

If I am supposed to replace SHA with v-correction when calculating a line of position for a planet (or moon), then why is the SHA for the navigation planets included in the daily pages of the Nautical Almanac?

This makes no sense to me. Its supposed to be one or the other.

The V-correction is applied to the GHA of the planet, correcting for the minutes of the hour. It does not replace the SHA.
The d-value is the applied to the declination.
Both are applied as per the instructions from the almanac or from Bowditch. And by reading Bowditch you may get a better understanding of what you are doing.

If SHA is not applied to planets when calculating a LOP, why does the almanac include SHA values for planets?

SHA is the basis for Pub. 249 site reduction method, and also star charts and star finders,
