Wow! found something useful on my own!
I'm sure many of you have this link but I found it to be just what I was looking for! it's interactive for the inlets, charts and Marinas. http://marinas.com/map/index.php?inf...infowindowid=7

Pretty cool... loads a chart of your own location too!

Pretty amazing is it not Faster? I've suddenly lost my fear of getting to Cape May NJ LOL
|
Oddly enough, I fond the same site last night for the first time. Made reservations at City Dock in Annapolis. Very cool and easy.

Denise,
Here's another site like marinas.com that overlays nautical charts over the satellite images, so you can see the depth contour lines as well. Just click on hybrid map type and then NOAA paper and move the slider to fade in/out the NOAA chart to your liking. Found at: GeoGarage - Route Preparation: (marine.geogarage.com/routes .... if the hot link doesn't work) (I'm scared of running into something hard, like the ocean floor...in my neighborhood instead of the waters being shoally, our shoals can sometimes have water around them... yikes! MS Gulf Coast is super shallow for a new sailer to get accustomed to.) |
Well that's pretty cool. Thanks Denise!
|
Cool, been on the Marinas.com site before but saw the charts...thanks
|
Both links are great. Thanks again!

Another good website is Activecaptain.com, which is run by Jeff Siegel, who's a good egg and often posts on many forums.
