Which sail to choose?

Jeff H said alot. Much to most of my sailing is close hauled.. just the way it turns out in day sailing on a large lake...Thank god for roller reefing.
As much as I like my 150, the 100 is more useful for the winds comming down the north from the nearby mountains.

Hesper, Hello neighbor...we sail out of Steppingstone
Marina (about a mile south of City Is. across the sound)
and enjoy (for better or worse) the same conditions.
All great analysis and information in posts above, in addition consider local summer conditions are fairly light air and then do you sail in heavy conditions and into the fall?
I have a 150 on the furler(fractional rig) and years ago I chose as my second headsail a very light (1 1/2 or 3/4 oz.) genoa that I had made up with a built in wire that I hoist on a spare halyard and attach to a fitting next to the furler. Use only in light air and when things pick up, down she goes into the forward hatch near where she lives. Together with folding prop is often times the differnce between sailing and motoring.
I don't have to take down or put up furled sail in any
conditions. I, like Hesper, am usually shorthanded or solo...don't race and not into changing sails often.
I also sail thru the fall and most of Dec. (just pulled boat and I got it covered before 20" snow storm) mostly in heavy conditions, not racing still not interested in sail changes...
I leave small area of the heavily reefed 150 (with foam) out with large reefed mainsail driving boat.
Realize that headsail does not have best shape, but works for my fractional rig.
Santa has been good to me and have just about enough
boat bucks for a 100 % that would replace the genny
come fall sailing, but that would be 3 head sails!
