Ceremonial Seamanship

Hi Folks, Just 2 quick questions - I'm attempting to find out about the names for the Ceremonial Dressing Lines for attaching FLAGS to Dress Ship. e.g. main to Down etc and am after a drawing to show representative of a two mast vessel. Also what is the distance associated with a cable, and the connotations there of.

The ship pictured therein is a schooner, with two equal-height masts. If you google "schooner", "ketch", or "yawl", you'll find more illustrations of two-masted sailboats.

A cable is a tenth of a nautical mile, or about 600 feet.
