Nope. A mooring "HAWSER" is the mooring line or cable itself. DogShip was/is entirely correct.

Hawse pipe. If it isn't all the way at the bow, it may be a panama.

Panama chock is a closed chock.
most chocks are open.
Hawse Pipe is for fairleading the anchor chain overboard.
If the chock is centered on the bow then it is a "Bull Nose".

Since there's no pipe, perhaps it is a hawse hole.

spillpipe to chain locker..hawsepipe fairleads the chain overboard and is home to the anchor.

next question..what is "warping" a vessel?
