Giant Wave
Apologies if this was posted before. |
Re: Giant Wave
Uh, Malcom, you might've closed your companionway and hatch? And that "dead engine", does it have anything to do with your jib sheets, lacking a stopper knot, going overboard and into your prop?
I withold further comment except to be very glad the rescuers were able to stay near and on their capsized boat. Malcom feels bad enough already without losing them, too. |
Re: Giant Wave
Yes I'm surprised the boat is afloat. With the open hatch it must not have tipped over as much as it looks like otherwise the boat would have filled.

Re: Giant Wave
I think this guy was the basis for the sailboat part in "A Perfect Storm". I think.

From what I read that guy got a bad rap. His crew panicked and without his knowledge radioed a mayday. The boat was ultimately found washed ashore in reasonable good condition. |
Re: Giant Wave
an anchor might have kept the boat out of the surf or at least pointed in to the waves

Re: Giant Wave
This is really old. Or at least seems so.

Re: Giant Wave
It's several years old, and has popped up a time or two, whether on SailNet I'm not sure.
