Re: Anchor chain for PS 37

It seems any way I look at it stowing 300' of chain is going to be a little more than just pushing a button. I guess thats what good able bodied crew are for. I'll do the button pushing part.

All of this is great info. I've been worried that perhaps I may have damaged my alternator in the past by switching the battery switch while engine running. yet I always seem to get a good charge...

Re: voltage regulator on a yanmar 3gm35F

Given we should not switch the battery switch during a charge let me pose a hypothetical situation to confirm my belief. Suppose batter 2 is dead. Well I can't start motor with battery 2 so I...

I have the above Yanmar motor with the stock alternator.
I don't have any clue what it is but my question is this.

Would it be easy to install a smart regulator (perhaps a Balmar) with this...

Re: SeaBoard under windlass?

Thats good info Dave,

Regarding the Teak spacer. Can you tell me if your grain is running fore/aft or inbd/otbd ? Seems fore/aft would make the most sense.

Thanks

Re: SeaBoard under windlass?

Jay,
Great thread as i'm dealing with that dilemna at the moment. Compression is an important issue to consider as the loads to fasteners can change dramatically as the windlass / deck flex...

Re: Divider in the chain locker on a PSC 34

Thanks for that Nate,

My PSC is of a similar setup. I didn't realize it but it seems the added vertical bolted on board is a common addition or feature from the factory as I have the same board....

Re: Divider in the chain locker on a PSC 34

Dave,

That sounds like a good plan. I'll try the alternate route before I start doing surgery on the chain locker. I'm looking forward to beginning the install. Recieved 2 40' lengths of 2/0...

Divider in the chain locker on a PSC 34

I am currently getting ready to install a new Lighthouse windlass on my PSC 34.
As I tend to anchor in fairly deep anchorages in Southern California I will probably carry 300' of 5/16 chain. My...

self launching bow roller

Have any of you installed one on your PSC?

Seems like a pretty cool idea. Certainly if you single handed and can operate your windlass from the cockpit.

I did in fact purchase the lighthouse 1501. I contacted thumper at PSC and they make a spacer for the 1501 out of all glass. Perhaps I need to set the windlass on...
