Mine has a drain to a foot pump and then to it's own through hull. No mess at all, just open the valve and pump it out.

West Marine AL290 (9'10") w/ older 8 hp Honda. I weigh in at a semi-chubby 220. On a plane the Garmin said 21kts. With wifey aboard it has trouble climbing the bow wave, but will plane at 15kts.

rent an efficiency apartment , pile your luggage inside the front door so you have to climb over it every time you enter or leave. Now cut the room in half so you'll have 3-400 square feet to use....

I'll probably catch a bunch of crap for this but have you thought of a Mac? they're cheap. Find one in Seattle, truck it up there, sail it down and then unload it when you're done .
