Re: Tartan 3700 issues, PLEASE!

Re: Never been in a slip

Re: Annoying Halyard Slap

Well, we have reached the season with much worse noise than halyard slap. The boat across from me apparently stripped their furling main today. Now something in that mechanism is banging inside their...

Re: Pearons 28 passes Beneteau 46

Back in the good-old-days, lawyering was an honorable profession, practiced by people that cared deeply about how well their arguments were trimmed, and the expediency in which they could navigate...

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

True blue-water sailors have no reason to go to shore, so no reason to store a dink.

Re: ICE box Drain plumbing

Both our current and previous boat had the ice-box drain plumbed to a hand pump at the sink, allowing you to pump when appropriate down the sink drain.

Doesn't draining ice-box water into the...

Re: A survival story in St Marten

I think the lesson here is that steel boats are a danger to us all. Ban them before we all are sunk.

Re: Buying my first boat please help

What circumstances would occur where having a contract before survey end up costing extra money? This has not been my experience in any of several boat or house purchases. The contract is written so...

Re: Campbell Sailor Prop vs. Max-Prop?

Seems like everyone else has it covered, but I will join the chorus.

We have been very pleased with our max prop. I have never had a fixed prop, so I can't speak to the exact question, but the...

Re: Annapolis live-aboard

When we were at Herrington Harbor South (and I assume HH North in Deale is similar) a 40 ft slip plus liveaboard fee was $550/mon. But power was metered, which depending on how you heat could add up....

Re: Annapolis live-aboard

When I priced ALM and Port A last year, both were nearly the same for a 38' boat (40' slip) once the liveaboard fee was added in (one was slightly cheaper slip, the other slightly cheaper LA fee)....
