Stern Tube Flange to Hull Gap Filler?

I pulled the bronze stern tube from my hull in order to make replacing the cutlass bearing easier. The cutlass bearing was extremely worn and I was getting lots of vibration. Age of whatever the...

Re: Coupler Sandwich?

Turns out not to be true. I read the online instructions and you apparently align the engine without the saver, then you put the saver in the middle. So I would still be working with a 4" coupler...

Re: Coupler Sandwich?

Thanks! At least I know what it is and that it's optional. I'll read up on it at the link. My first impression was that it would make alignment more difficult since it is an inch bigger in...

Coupler Sandwich?

Replacing a MD7A with MD7B that has common gear box setup. I need to replace the shaft as well. Since engine size and gear box are same I was thinking a same size shaft is needed. Here is what the...

Re: Temporary Screw/Bolt Hole Sealant

It's ok hellosailor... you are preaching to the choir. My tongue in cheek jab wasn't at your tape choice but at the vendors attempt to gussy up the product by adding "marine" to the title. I had...

Re: Temporary Screw/Bolt Hole Sealant

Thanks for the two excellent suggestions. I had considered tape but dismissed it due to the issues you mentioned (messy removal) but mainly because I wasn't convinced on the ability to seal out...

Temporary Screw/Bolt Hole Sealant

I'm removing wood and hardware from the deck and cabin of my 30+ year old fiberglass boat. Plan is to do the epoxy treatment (drill and fill) before re-installing stuff. Until then, I'm looking for...

Re: Autohelm ST4000 Plus problems

I wonder if they really mean the processor, or if that is just a general statement they make to avoid fixing it. My unit had the low battery problem. Here is what I was able to determine on mine. ...

Re: Autohelm ST4000 Plus problems

It doesn't sound like a back lighting problem. I have my ST4000+ control head taken apart. The LCD is easily readable without back lighting.

Re: Why does my diesel not rev when in gear?

Oh and I did sail it for a few hours. It sailed fine which seems to eliminate the bottom, but not the prop.

Re: Why does my diesel not rev when in gear?

OBTW, I have the MD7A of the 13 hp flavor, not the 7B of the OP. There are no glow plugs on this engine.

Thanks for the reminder regarding fouled prop. I missed that on my todo. The boat was...
