Re: Sisyphustine Bilge Pump Cycle

When I read this yesterday, I was going to suggest adding a vented loop. Your OP, however, led me to believe that there was no room for one.

Regarding the little bit of water left over (and...

Re: Minimum electronics for coastal cruising

I'm about here for "minimum for peace of mind". A wind pack would be really nice. AIS would be nice. I could probably learn how to work radar into a essential piece of the pie, but it's harder to...

Re: Tartan 34C

That amount of Brightwork will be a PITA:(. I can't see the aft ones very well, but I am not a fan of the non-self tailing winches:(. No dodger visible in the pics.

Re: Tempermental starter

Two likely possibilities;
* dirty/loose/corroded connections between starter, solenoid and battery.
* dirty/loose/corroded connection between battery, keyswitch and solenoid.

Re: JFK's sailboat up for auction in Dallas - The Seattle Times

Why would JFK's sailboat be for auction in DALLAS?

I would haul it to Boston, New York, Palm Beach/Miami or even DC..

Re: Repowering with a Tractor Motor

I would still be worried about the amount of heat conducted through the device... Janice's update stating that the cooler water enter at the exhaust outlet end lessens this, somewhat, but it is still...

Re: Fuel Pump Noise

More than likely you have a 1987 Universal M25 in your Catalina. The picture above is of a Facet fuel lift pump. This pump has a filter in the bottom, by the way.

The fuel tank should have 1...

Re: My Tow vehicle

I had a '98 Ranger XLT with the extended cab. It was a fun truck, with the "Cologne" V6.

Watch for the brake lines rotting (FORD is infamous for this in many trucks). The parking brake kept...

Re: universal M-30 5424

The Kubota part number seems wrong... However, the case is NOT structural. It only keeps oil inside the timing case. You could have it welded (guessing that it is aluminum) or even patch it with JB...
