I had a kind of eventful haulout. Several unexpected repairs came up, in addition to the expected tasks of maintaining the cast iron keel. I sanded down the keel to the last good epoxy coat and...

Is Interprotect going to fall off if it's over old antifouling in some places?

I have a cast iron keel that had a bit of rust when I hauled (as is always the case) so we spot-sanded off any rusty spots to bare metal. After going at it for a while some of the spots started to...

How would you repair this hull damage?

I have a 1974 Coronado 41. Ever since I've had the boat, there has been this one poorly repaired crack through the hull that has bothered me. I assume it was just patched with some kind of surface...

I have a 10,000 lb cast iron keel...

Cool, I may have to try this on my keel fairing job next week. That's going to be a big cold hunk of iron though. Hopefully I can "warm it up" to 2 degrees C :)

In my Coronado 41's keelbolt area I have a lot of narrow channels that trap shallow pools of water. I hate having water around the keelbolts and mast step!

I installed a movable maintenance pump...

Well, it's winter in Seattle and I've got a haulout scheduled next week for my 41' Coronado sloop. I am planning on fairing the keel, painting the bottom, replacing some thru-hulls, and...

The Filthy Whore

This is a sister ship to my own Coronado 41. I met the owners about 1 year ago at the haulout yard here in Seattle. Great folks!

Of course I mean the companionway hatch not deck hatches, so that info's probably totally irrelevant to your topic. Sorry about that.

The ports on my boat do leak considerably, and I've tried...

The hatch on my Coronado 41 is the most horribly designed horizontal 3-piece folding thing, that leaks like a sieve. I contemplated rebuilding it extensively or converting it into some long...

By the way there is a pretty marina at Rosario Resort, halfway up Eastsound. This is on the grounds of a historic old hotel. Not much in way of supplies there except fuel, pumpout, expensive...

I never found tying up for a storm to be rocket science (though I've never weathered a proper hurricane here in Seattle) we did have a nice little 90mph blast last winter which doubled springlines...

I just made one of those rash purchases of a gently used item I found for a great deal on Craigslist. In this case it's a Symmetric Spinnaker and pole from a Benneteau 35.

The dimensions of the...
