Re: Diving from Sailboat

I carry a "Rapid Diver". Complete dive system in one small package. Fits in a small soft case for easy storage. Give's me about 1/2 hour of air. Way easier getting on and off the boat.

Re: What can/should I do while repacking my stuffing box?

Replace the rubber hose of the stuffing box. Should be done every 8 years. I replaced mine last spring. Looked fine. Got it out and closer inspection revealed it was badly cracked.

Re: Volvo Penta MD6b Cold Start System

According to my engine manual the cold start set on my volvo 2003t is pull out the engine stop and push back in. This actuates a cam in the governor and kind of acts like a choke. Then set throttle...

Re: Westerbeke 30 won't start after sitting

You obviously have an air leak on the low pressure side of the fuel system.
My 36t developed the same symptoms several years back. Turned out to be one of the seals on the top of one of the filters...

Re: One Last "All is Lost " thread

I just attempted to watch "all is lost". Whom ever directed this has no knowledge of sailing and boat systems. Worst piece of crap I've seen in a long time.

Re: Westerbeke Glow Plug

Glow plugs are hardly your problem if the engine wont turn over.
Way to many problems here to resolve on the net.
1. Shore power to battery charger
2. battery power to starter
Figure that out...

Re: Anchor windlass installation on CS36T - What's your set-up?

I installed a lewmar horizontal windlass on my previous 36t. I had a stainless mounting box made up that had the top of the windlass just under the deck hatch. I used all chain. I cut an access to...

Re: 1990s boom furling mains

A little hard to see in photo but the mast track, stops and vang looks like a Sailtainer in boom furler to me. If so I have one and it is extremely well made. Was probably the best made at the time....

Re: Cruising Worlds Top 40 Boats

Dave
Look at a cs 40. Easy for a couple to sail and a aft guest cabin.
In the us they are very undervalued. They have fallen off the radar for used boat buyers that dont know the name.

Re: Hunter 33 vs CS 30

If they are similar vintage boats the cs 30 will sail circles around the hunter. Raced against one on a c&c 33 for years. That being said they were both designed to be coastal cruisers not blue water...

Re: 10 days south of Cuttyhunk

In that same area also look at Watch Hill.
If you want to venture farther west to Shelter Island in Gardners bay, Sag Harbor, and Deering have moorings and stuff to do ashore. Orient Harbor,...
