the water based stuff is crap, does not last . use a good oil based spar varnish or two part polyurethane not one part. to me Cetol always look like it still needs to be varnished

but it was not, it was an option in 1985 when we looked at buying a new 38. many boats in the 80s did not come with a vang.

most likely it is a leak if it was condensation the whole deck would be effected. steel and ss condense at the same rate. if you want to test for a leak use toilet bowl wax, lot easier to clean up....

the difference is in the weight of the boat. you will learn to sail faster in the FS. response is quicker, bigger boats are not harder to sail but are harder to dock and maneuver around the marina....
