I've herd that if stopped by the Coast Guard and inspected the fine for non marine equipment is quite expensive. Is the cost saved on the non shielded alternator worth your boat and maybe your life....

Thanks Midlifesailor. I'm hoping when I get Anicca finished the way the Admiral wants, we will do a lot of sailing. Any speed under sail is better than not sailing.
