Re: is it ok to look as long as you dont touch

I like looking at CL and YW to get ideas for mods and upgrades to our boat, not to replace her.

I'm not foolish enough to suggest that in any way parallels to looking at other women.

Re: Phones Apps

SVA - have you tested that? I ask because it seems Google Maps could find me in Airplane mode but I haven't tested it otherwise.

Re: Phones Apps

You may want to try using it with airplane mode turned on. If the nav app you're using downloads the chart to the phone, it may be able to use GPS without enabling data. Also it may save your battery...

Re: Phones Apps

All iPads that have cellular access (3G or LTE) have GPS. Wifi only iPads do not have GPS.

With regard to copying files back and forth (and excluding big brother paranoia), it makes a lot of sense...

AFAIK depth finders don't like air bubbles as it disrupts their readings. Lots of bubbles in those wakes.

Re: I want to learn to sail in the Bay Area!

Cal sailing is a bit of a mixed bag. We went a couple times but decided we wanted our own boat. They do have open houses fairly regularly that are free and let you get an idea of what to expect.

Re: Lazy Jacks: Lov'em or Leave'em?

Does anyone use them on sails with partial battens? I see all the vids show how nicely full battens flake with lazy jacks but none with partial battens.

Re: Where can I park her?
