Re: PSC 31 Mysterious Teak Box on Head Bulkhead?

Thanks Adam, I appreciate the response. It looked to be just a cover/trim piece, but it's so elaborate looking. I couldn't visualize what the companionway molding must look like under that but...

Re: Quantity and storage for anchor chain for a Pacific Seacraft 31

I too would like to hear how much 5/16" chain can fit in the 31's anchor locker. Just bought
a 31 and the locker looks pretty shallow/small. Do folks have to often run below to un-pile chain as it...

I'll see exactly what I've got...

Re: Autopilots on PSCs

Oh, sorry! Yes, I was referring to the owner of the 31.
Been a bit muddled with family/hospital stuff and two boats!
Thanks, Jim

Re: Autopilots on PSCs

MC1, I sent you a PM but just in case...did the factory have any objections or concerns at all, about the removal of the aft bulkhead for access to the steering cable/reel? Seaworthiness, etc.?
I've...

Yes, IF it's still for sale, there was one in La Conner, WA. It was listed with an Oak Harbor Wa. broker. Sorry can't remember the name...trade winds, maybe. The boat was in Shelter Bay Marina. Hope...

Pacific Seacraft 31: Wet/Dry? V Berth/Hull Liner?

wet bedding along the edges where it comes...

Re: Question regarding Rocna Anchor's Roll Bar

Thanks again Chef. I'll definitely start paying more attention to the newer anchors and talk with other boaters in anchorages about them. I'm a traditionalist but not closed minded either!
Just...

Re: Question regarding Rocna Anchor's Roll Bar

chef2sail, would you mind elaborating? How things "feel" or "look" to you when you're anchoring and anchored in blows? Can you or your boat feel any very definite differences between your old CQR...

Re: Question regarding Rocna Anchor's Roll Bar

Thanks for the additional responses. It's great to hear from users.
Not to be argumentative or troll-y, I just don't get the dissatisfaction with CQRs at least in the PNW. I've been using a...

Re: Question regarding Rocna Anchor's Roll Bar

Not questioning their construction/strength. They sound impressive in both the R&D and production. I'll do as you suggest and google around more and watch this coming season in anchorages to see how...

Re: Question regarding Rocna Anchor's Roll Bar

I hear what you're saying about the anchor rode being the bigger target by far, but with a CQR I'd think it would very likely rotate as it turns from the other boat's dragged anchor.
I've seen...

Re: Urgent-ish 45 lb. CQR on A Pacific Seacraft 31?

I'll definitely use a CQR for our region (Pacific N.W.) and I know the 35 will fit fine. I have a chance to possibly trade my 45 for a 35 but will hold off until I know if the 45 will work on the PSC...

Re: Urgent-ish 45 lb. CQR on A Pacific Seacraft 31?

I'm currently selling my 1977-78 Fisher Pilothouse Motor Sailer (doing a trade for the 31 for sales tax savings) to get the PSC 31.

Surprisingly, my 30+ year old CQR 45 lb. looks perfect except...

Urgent-ish 45 lb. CQR on A Pacific Seacraft 31?

Signing off on a Pacific Seacraft 31 tomorrow. Do any PSC 31 owners use a 45#
CQR on their bow roller? I know the 35lb. works fine next to a Bruce. I have trusted my 45lb CQR for 30 yrs. and would...
