Re: Pacific Seacraft Portlight Gaskets

Is replacing these seals a simple matter of just digging out the old and pushing the new seal in with some kind of adhesive?

Re: Throttle on Edson/Yanmar keeps dropping

I've been using a bungee on the throttle lever for quite some time so I'll start with removing the compass and see if I can address it there.
If not I'll go down and consider putting some drag on...

Throttle on Edson/Yanmar keeps dropping

When I find the need to push the throttle up to 2500 RPM I find that it will almost instantly start dropping down. I believe this may be caused by either loose linkage, the edson throttle lever...

I did infact go with flourescent rustoleum. The paint is actually drying as we speak.
I almost considered anti-foulant paint. Not for its ablative properties but thought...

Re: Pump for emptying cooler

Hoses are rubber. It just wouldn't be done right if I didn't do it the most expensive way.

Pump for emptying cooler

Anyone know where I can find one of those brass pumps that are used to pump ice water and such from the bottom of the ice chest? I think mine died. Can't find one on West Marine or Defender.

Ran the 2/0 cables under the caprail from the port cockpit locker. Its a good straight run for such unflexible...

Re: New Tigress Windlass is IN

Jay,

So if I understand you correctly you are finding that there would be an advantage to placing the hawse pipe forward of the deepest part of the chain locker.
As I have yet to drill any holes...

Re: Bilge pump wiring

My pump runs to a dedicated switch which has on/off/auto and from the switch goes directly to the battery. There is an inline fuse about 12" from the battery.

Re: 60 lb Manson Supreme on PSC 34

I'm sure it is oversize.
But oversize is a relative term. If I were always anchoring in less than 40' I wouldn't even consider the 60 lb. But sometimes I'm in 80 feet of water with a 3:1...
