Re: Bedding Deck Hardware With Butyl Tape

I'm definitely a convert. Butyl works as described, at least for me. The only time it didn't was with wood against the gelcoat topside. Not sure why floater has had the problems he has had. Look...

Comfort level improving

Background:

Had a Coronado 15 25 yrs ago. Lots of fun, but learning how to sail on a performance sailboat sucks, esp. singlehanding mostly!

Turned to windsurfing, and did that for 20 years. ...

I have a US Yacht 25 on the Columbia River. Wife has a 4 yr old IPAD in good condition, wants to donate to the boat.

I'm wondering what others would do. I'm kind of landlocked. Getting to...

Re: Rewiring US Yacht 25

I remember your project, Denise. Also the comment by another person...."12V won't kill you, unless you deserve it".

Great pictures! HVAC I couldn't do. I'm a nurse. However, very proud of my...

Re: Rewiring US Yacht 25

I can't thank Main Sail enough for his knowledge, and illustrations on how to do things the right way. Now I have some new skills, and several new tools (the right ones, at that).

Re: Rewiring US Yacht 25

Thanks to everyone on Sail.net and definitely Main Sail.

I completed a much needed rewiring, starting with a new battery box (old one was plastic and had too much freedom of movement!). While I...

Re: Stereo Power Installation

We're on the dry side of Wa. State (for now). Friend has a pair of marine speakers mounted flush in the cockpit with no problems thus far. I am thinking of doing the same thing. At $50/pair,...

Re: Rewiring US Yacht 25

Thanks Brian. I just wanted to make sure wasn't missing something. The - bus has 20 #10's. I'm sure wiring the - to the - bus was obvious to most people, just not myself. And yes, it will...

Re: Bedding Deck Hardware With Butyl Tape

I'm a total nitwit with search function, so pardon if a repost:

I'm a total convert with butyl for rebedding. However, had one instance where it didn't seem the good solution. Used a wood base...

Re: Rewiring US Yacht 25

Thank You Brian,

That was my next question. Would it be easier and less complicated to get a battery charger that monitors both batteries? Or go with an ACR?

I didn't want to get too detailed...

Re: Jabsco Head leak

Of course I tried the easy way out, first. Removed the old base plug and inserted the new plug. The old one didn't look any worse for wear. However, the leaking stopped.

I'll try it as is for...
