Sandblasting?

Back in Ohio we used to blast with ground up corn cobs, did a good job and was soft enough not to do any damage.

You could also try something like Peal Away stripper,put it on and come back 3 days...

Sail inspections

Thanks for the tip. I did stumble across Bacon''s web site and they say to test with a sail needle. Trying to pass the needle through the sail cloth you should get some resistence and not hear any...

I''m in the process of buying my first boat. What should I look for when inspecting the sails? Are there any good books on the subject?
