I am casting off from Solomons tomorrow Friday AM. Plan to get to Cambridge about same time as Capt. Roger. I'll be monitoring CH 16 once at anchor. Dinner Friday evening: I know Stoked...

Re: Cambridge MD Sailnet Rendezvous July 25-26

I will possibly arrive Friday. All depends on forecast, whichever day might be a better sail northeast. Great Pizza and beer place, Stoked, if it's still in business. I'll probably bring dessert,...

Re: What would u do? (bareboat dilemma #2)

I wouldn't. But I would not charter with them again unless after you do a lot of complaining they offered you a discount on your next charter.

Re: Cambridge MD Sailnet Rendezvous July 25-26

Ulladh: I am thinking of anchoring in Cambridge Creek instead of getting a slip. Is there a dinghy dock in the vicinity of Snappers that can be used?

Re: PSC34 Wet exhaust

BML: my Crealock 37 also came with a ball valve on the exhaust hose. I also worry about hydraulically locking the engine during following seas but so far it has not been an issue. I would think that...

Re: That was fun!

How/where did you attach the tack? A picture would be awesome! What folder do you place your recent pictures? Everything seems pretty old on your website.

Re: Raise the main sail while still at anchor

Just to clarify: I don't want to sail off, I just need to get the main up and reef before I get out of the confines of the "calm anchorage". Yesterday I was coming out of an anchorage in Reedville,...

Raise the main sail while still at anchor

Anyone ever consider raising the mainsail (and putting in a reef) before hauling up the anchor? I've had issues when singlehanded in narrow fairways dealing with getting the sail set while keeping...

Re: Thunderstorms

If you want to take a passive approach then lower all sails and go down below for the worst of the storm. The boat will lay abeam to the seas. Or hove too.
If you have plenty of sea room then while...

Re: Airhead in PSC 37?

Scupper: what is your head orientation? Bow -stern or port-stbd? I've heard these composting heads do not work well separating #1 and #2 when heeled on heads oriented port-stbd.

Re: Departing the slip in reverse singlehanded

JSLADE: I don't see how that can work from a stern cleat. I would think uour bow will fall off in the slip as soon as you let go of the bow line.
