Re: Looking for some perspective

I'm assuming the higher offer is going to be accepted based on how the negotiations went. My final offer was only a couple of thousand less than the asking price. We all have to live with ourselves...

Looking for some perspective

So, I lost my T33 to Sandy and have been looking for a replacement. I found a boat down in Annapolis very close to where the T33 was purchased. I had run into the broker at the Boat Show a few times...

Re: Lesson from Sandy

I also had my boat at Morgan on the hard. She was lifted off her stands and spent a good amount of time playing bumper boats. I found her a good 100 yards from where she was blocked. Needless to say,...

Mounting Tacktick Display

I'm installing a Tacktick on the bulk head. Since it's 100% wireless, would I be able to use 3M 5200 to adhere the mounting plate? I would prefer not to drill.

Thanks

Re: Progressive Insurance

I started off on the website, but my model of Tartan wasn't listed so I was instructed to call.

Still no official quote. I guess it's time to get on the phone again.

Re: Progressive Insurance

Well I didn't receive the quote via email as promised and the agent hasn't called me back. Something must be up. I thought the price sounded low.

Progressive Insurance

Does anyone have opinions on Progressive. I've been with Boat US for the last two years and each year the premiums have increased by 11%. I've never had an accident or filed a claim ( knock knock)....

Re: Battery Switch

The boat is on the hard. I don't launch for a few weeks assuming the new heat exchanger arrives.

I'm leaning towards two std deep cycles. Your summation sounds right, but others have cautioned...

Re: Battery Switch

Thanks. I've been considering using 6v batteries for the house bank, but I'm running into a space issue. I really liked Maine Sails post regarding Sam's Club batteries. For the buck, it looks like a...

Re: Battery Switch

There are only 2 batteries installed. Both are 7 year old, group 24 AGM deep cycles. I thought both were fully charged when I tested. I need test again starting at the batteries.

I'm wondering if/...

Re: Battery Switch

Thanks for the reply. I've only had the boat for two seasons and I always used both position(off when away) and I never had an issue. I sail most every weekend with one or two week long trips....

So I thought I knew something about boat wiring because I could install a autopilot, VHF, 12v fans..ect, you get the point, until I started reading Nigel Calders' book and I've come to the conclusion...

Re: Friggin' Raymarine...

Installed the X5 last summer and I've also experienced the Mot Stall issue. It would only occasional occur while under sail. Pressure on the helm didn't matter. Raymarine tech support was no help....

Connecting SmartPilot X-5 to Garmin 740

Need some assistance from an electronics guru. I'm trying to connect an autopilot to a GPS using NMEA 0183. On the autopilot the inputs are labeled
