Re: All you "Riggers" out there

I replaced all the standing rigging on my CnC 26 2 seasons ago.
All new swaged on fittings and turnbuckles - $1,200 the lot.
A 30 footer can't be that much more.
My old shrouds and stays looked a...

Re: New Main Sail for a Good Ol' Boat, who has em?

Join the C&C forum.

Not the forum that's on the site.
There is an email forum - I think it's down the left hand side.
Most everyone with a 34 (except you!) is on there.

Re: Preventing spade rudder line fouling?

My C&C came standard with a 1/4"? rod about 3" long just in front of the spade rudder, sticking down from the hull. Effectively shuts out access to the rudder/hull gap. Just as RichH describes.
I...

Re: Cost of replacing all lines in Hunter 32

There's a Hunter 336 on here:
Cajun Ropes (http://www.cajunrope.com/kits.html)
with a price for a full set at $1100 and change.
A 32 has got to be close or slightly less!

Re: Anegada chart

iNavX or iSailor.
I have both and they work good.
If you're looking for a paper chart - I can't help, but someone will be along shortly.

Re: hull and deck no core?

The first cored, fiberglass boat is generally believed to be "Red Jacket" - a 40 ft, 1966 C&C.
So it would be very unlikely that your boat, built in 1966 would also have a core so soon after this....

V69 use a #16 needle
V92 use a #20 needle
Tenara PTFE thread will last forever, but pricy.

Re: Cabin speakers?

Let me throw something else into the mix:
Guy on the CnC list a few months ago shared a project where he was putting sound into the cockpit. I know you are doing the cabin, but bare with me-
He...

Re: Sewing machine corner

I use double sided tape a lot.
It takes the place of the pins my wife uses with her home sewing. I never use pins, they are very hard to use with even a few thicknesses of canvas.
I also use a...

Re: Engine oil stains on deck gelgoat

Tilex with Bleach - $6 a bottle.
Scrub with a deck brush and flush with cold water.
Don't over think this!

Re: Sewing machine corner

I run a one man sail repair and canvas business. It pays for my sailing trips!
The business is seasonal - there are currently ice boats on the lake - I do get a few ice boat sail repairs though!

Re: Resawing 1 x 4 mahogany

I have a 14" Laguna bandsaw (3hp) with a 1" resaw blade.
I wouldn't hesitate to resaw 4" mahogany with it. (I've done 10" white oak with success)
Might need a little sanding, but probably be be...
