Re: 2-blade Flexofold Problems

In the video, there appears to be some kelp on the collar or shaft. Could this be preventing the prop from opening?

Re: San Diego (also questions about boat ownership in California)

Re: Alado Furler

We have the Alado on our Cat 30. We love it. The only issue I have with it is that the is no good way to attach the furler's halyard. You have to tie it off to the drum and wrop the excess. We...

Check the wind direction. Avalon harbor can be dangerous during Santa Anas. Tuesday and Wednesdays winds are projected to be strong from the northwest. You should have a hard beat to weather for...

Re: $854,400 in Fuel Spill Liability?

Buy the insurance. What happens if your tank leaks when you are anchored out in a nice deserted cove and the tide take the fuel into the tidal zone. The cleanup and fines will be quite expensive.

Re: 1989 Hunter 40 - A million questions.

I am not being disrespectful but am asking. How do you steer and and navigate from outside? I have a GPS on a swing arm visible from the wheel. To plot a course, I either sit outside or sit inside...

Re: Circumnavigation with partner

You need to have one captain to make the final decision in any situation BUT the captain needs to listen to and take into consideration the other person's concern. If your boyfriend can listen to...

Most memorable sail

What was your most memorable sail. I don't necessarily mean the most exiting or best sailing day but the one that in your heart you remember when describing sailing to other people you meet.

Re: What made you buy your boat?

We bought our Catalina 30 because it was big enough to take the whole family, two of us and three older kids but small enough for the two of us to handle ourselves. We needed a boat that we could...

Re: Fuel Tank size error

That's something I wondered about. I did not have to bleed the system. When it ran out of fuel, we shut everything down. Since the gauge was on empty and the engine died, I assumed we were out of...

Re: Fuel Tank size error

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll have to put some more investigation into it. I'll let you know if I learn anything. Meanwhile, I'll sail based on a 12 gallon range.

Re: Admiral wont let me name the boat "Bikini Bottom"
