Re: What's the *second* best way to keep spiders off your boat?

"STAR BRITE Spider Away" is a non-toxic repellant that is safe to use around pets, the marine environment, and you. It works great.

Those pesticides are really deadly, and not something you...

List Serve for Chesapeake Bay sailing?

Once upon a time, and for many years, there were list serves about sailing/boating on the Chesapeake. These were great for getting current info about places and conditions. But it seems they are lost...

Re: Any GPS antenna plug-ins for iPad?

I'd like to free up my phone to be a phone and not part of the navigation system.

What tablet do you use? I am still on trial with my iPad Mini and not entirely happy with it.

Re: Westerly section??

I have seen a big drop in listings for Westerly's. 10 years ago there would be a lot of them on the various sale sites. Now they are rare (for the westen...

Re: Westerly section??

I had one for 25 years. Loved it. Wanted a 36ft twin keel Solway but could not find one in decent shape this side of the Atlantic. Wound up getting a CSY instead. Love it, but miss the shoal draft...

Re: Water Filteration

Comparing stomach acids to acid rain is ludicrous. (I drink a cup of acid every morning at breakfast, too) Do you have any idea what makes up the pollutants in air pollution? Of course...

Re: Water Filteration

I don't know why people think rain water is safe. Ever heard of acid rain? Seen deforestation on the tops of the Smokies from acid rain? Know that AG's from several eastern states have been suing...

Re: Winter Moisture Control

It's the kind you buy at Home Depot or Lowes. About 6ft by many feet, folded like an accordion to about 6x2. There is thicker pink foam but that is more than I would like under a rug I am walking on....

Re: Winter Moisture Control

Forgot to mention that a major area of heat loss is through the cabin sole. The cold water is a great conductor of heat out of the hull. I bought some cheap, rubber back carpet runners at KMart and...

Re: Winter Moisture Control

I've spent several winters aboard in two different boats. Had terrible condensation issues the first winter but have coped better ever since. Ventilation is not just inside out. It is also about...

Re: Lumen rating Dr. LED "Sidekick" LED bulb E26 base

Re: Washington DC area June 16-20th.

I think this is the time when OpSail will be arriving in Baltimore? There are a bunch of big sailing ships that will have been in Norfolk and then depart as a group for Baltimore. Sort of a wet ruin...

Re: Liveaboard Commuting to D.C.
