Thanks guys, really appreciate your input.

I wish I could post pics but for now I'll make a verbal description.

There are two levers in the cockpit, one to select forward and reverse, and the...

If 3) also opens the engine throttle how does it's action stop the engine?

I would...

Universal M18 - stopping using throttle push back

Hey all,

The previous owner told us the way to stop the engine was to pull up on a black lever, which we've been doing happily for over 2 years.

Over the weekend I was doing something novel......

Universal M18 Crankcase breather with oily mist

Hey all,

I've noticed that our 1984 sailboat engine and compartment is covered in a film of oil that I suspect is coming from the crankcase breather.

Re: Catalina 27 - heavy tiller

Just to follow up on this. We hauled the boat over the weekend and dropped the rudder.

The rudder post was coated in grease which had the consistency of chewing gum. We cleaned the rudder post...

Hey all,

We have a '84 Catalina 27 and the tiller has been quite heavy (at the dock and underway) since we bought it.

Is there anything we can do to ease it?

I'm hoping that the rudder post...
