If we should make it out of here before the hurricanes start coming in, we'll go for the destination of Ecuador, and if we still want to continue, I'd like to go to Golfo de California. It's a...

Hi Zee,

Nice to hear from you. You are such a brave woman. I am itching to get going, and so is my hubby, but the insurance company is making us take lessons before we go...an

Sheesh! What a pain to have to experience that. You'd think that on a site like this, people would be less likely to be rude and negative...but I guess not. Too bad. Who needs that??
I wouldn't...

Re: Worst Gel-Coat Job ever

I forgot to mention that our neighbor did use something as a hardener, but I'm not sure what it is. He sprayed it on...purple stuff. Don't know the name of it. I'll ask when he comes this weekend.

Re: Worst Gel-Coat Job ever

He did an area of approx. 18" tall by 15' wide and on both sides of the boat...5 ports per side, so take that space out of the equation, and he used about 10 cans of preval aerosal. Cans were about...

Our neighbor was having some men work on his gel coat, but they only showed up one time to do part of the job, and then they never returned. He took it into his own hands and found a much...

Re: Need Input on Insurance Companies

We'll check it out. Our broker in Kemah wasn't with a particular company, either, and the agency he found that orginally said they'd take us, backed out because of 1. our lack of experience, and 2....

Re: Dehumidifier in wet/rain PNW?

We are actually in the Galveston area. It's humid, but not as much as PNW, at least I think. I'm really not sure of that. It's just very hot in the summer in the Houston areas, with the humidity,...

Re: Dehumidifier in wet/rain PNW?

How often do you run your de-humidifier? Does it differ on where you are located, if you're docked, out at sea, etc.? It probably depends on where you are, how much humidity is in the air, and if...
