Re: Small rechargeable batteries (AAA, AA, C,D)

No I can not remember the number of cycles. We have been on the boat 24/7/365 for 8 years and in the end they just did not hold the charge well enough. It gets a bit disconcerting when you are...

Re: Small rechargeable batteries (AAA, AA, C,D)

We started out with rechargeables and it kinda worked for a while. But they just did not hold the charge long and eventually we went back to buying batteries -- I have a ton of old rechargables that...

Re: Americas Cup 2016

Re: Prop antifoulant methods

We just found a product called Sea Jet Pellerclean -- not much info on it yet but we will take a hard look at it when we haul and paint this spring. We are sailing the Med.

Re: Captained Charter Market Research

Not sure what you are looking for but seems to learn a bit about sailing and all that goes along with it as well as having a great time I would suggest the BVIs - and look at Extasea charters

Re: how to convert the naive and the unwilling?

[QUOTE=northernsquirrel;3280905]

The way we do it - and we are a team - is I plan and then go over it with her - if she has reservations we talk about it -- we are planning a trip right now and I...

Re: Where to go, Belize, Bahamas or Turks & Caicos

Have a suggestion -- think out of the box and charter and sail the Azores. I am a moderator on a Jeanneau and just approved a posting by Sailingside.com that is a charter company in the Azores. Had...

Re: how to convert the naive and the unwilling?

I have been known to be blunt so I will be blunt. You did say their was any previous water experience so I assume none until you put everyone in a kayak in tough water and had a really bad...

Re: Anchoring in high winds

We have been in St Marteens in a blow and a couple of boats did drag but most stayed put. How much chain and what size did you have out and what was your scope? And you may want to do some research...

Re: Chartplotter-rader: integrated or not???

No idea about B&G but we run Raymarine and I would not do with the overlay and marpa. Yes we run ais but in a lot of cases boats are not equipped with ais and we use marpa to get some idea of where...
