Re: Kiwi-grip Non-Skid deck finish...

FWIW, on my sabre it has the molded in non skid pattern & I found that using the 1/8 notch" didn't provide adequate coverage on the test area I did once it settled. I used the 1/4" notch on the...

Re: Best solar panels?

I don't know Bleemus, I could argue that point. I have designed & installed many thermal solar systems over the years that produce hot water for space heating & domestic hot water that work on a -20...

James from Electroprop has installed a 2 panel tilting solar system on his boat & claims he can run his EP off sun power only. There are some other folks out there doing the same thing. Mike has a...

Re: Comparing diesel vrs electric propulsion(DIY/Production) in terms of resell value

That's because @ 3-4 knots you're getting the most bang out of the battery bank without depleting it/going below the DOD based upon what you've got for batteries. EP boats can do hull speed but not...

Re: Old Frost cold plate freon type

Is the data plate in the picture from the coil?
If so see if the compressor has a data plate on it. The Freon/charge information should be on it.

Re: relocating deck fill, what to use for core material?

Why not just glass it in like a thru hull?
That's what I did for my diesel fuel fill.

Re: WTB/WTT: Looking for a used inboard diesel

That has train wreck written all over it...
It's going to be difficult finding anything decent for $1500 that doesn't come with it's own set of problems. There's a web site called Diesel Engine...

Re: How to repair rotting core surrounding chainplates

To help you determine the extent of the rot you may be able to sound out the deck in the area where the chain plate penetration is with a plastic mallet or screw driver handle. The unsound wet...

Re: Hello Pearson P 30 with Electric Yacht motor checking in

Those are very good numbers! Surprising the difference a clean bottom & prop makes. The good thing about this exercise is you now have a before & after picture. So when the amps start going up, it's...

Re: Pulling up the anchor single handed. Tips?

We used this approach to retrieve an anchor & rode back when I used to anchor out on the ledge to tuna or shark fish many years ago. When you're trying to recover 500-600 feet of rode it's pretty...

Re: Pulling up the anchor single handed. Tips?

Why not a handheld remote to control the windless from the helm?
There was a recent article in one of the magazines where a hand held remote for a jeep or atv winch was used at a fraction of the...

Re: Need advice...

Gary,

Re: Hello Pearson P 30 with Electric Yacht motor checking in

You've got my vote on that. I just can't wrap my head around why anyone would spend that much $$ for batteries. I understand the "benefits" but I'm not drinking the cool aid.

The other thing...

Re: Hello Pearson P 30 with Electric Yacht motor checking in

The data came from the EY vendor, maybe it's not realistic.

Re: Hello Pearson P 30 with Electric Yacht motor checking in

Re: Hello Pearson P 30 with Electric Yacht motor checking in

Congratulations, on the new boat.
You should check with electric yachts & see what size wheel/prop they recommend.
This way when you pull the boat you'll be able to see what's actually on her. ...

Re: LPG plumbing - teflon tape?

I never said to use pipe dope or Teflon tape on a flare fitting. As others have mentioned, you do not pipe dope flare fittings, only the male threaded end. If you look at a gas fired appliance in...
