Re: Local Insurance rates/recommendations

I compared the policy line by line with one I had on a Beneteau 41 with United Marine insurance . The coverage is similar, my previous rate was over twice as much. Geico provides boat insurance...

Re: Local Insurance rates/recommendations

If you have insurance with Geico, check their boat insurance rates. They have by far the lowest I found to insure my new Jeanneau 34', $650/yr on the Chesapeake Bay.

Re: damage after impact

Beneteau will likely ask you to contact your local Beneteau dealer. I bought a new Oceanis B41 last fall and can't never get an answer from them on tech issue, I always have to go through my dealer.

While taking along friends with no sailing experience, I have enjoyed single handling my new Beneteau Oceanis 41 , thanks to the autopilot and its surprisingly good auto-tack and auto-jibe features. ...

Just a small Coleman BlackCat portable heater and our beds thick comforters. We are pretty hard core campers so, the boat feels like a 5-star hotel.

Cheers

Re: Advice for Chesapeake Cruise this week-end

I actually bought it from the Moorings back in July. It's in their Annapolis Landing Marina charter fleet. No charters until May so, I am free to sail.

Take care,

Re: Advice for Chesapeake Cruise this week-end

Thanks. I have a 5'1" draft so, these look plenty deep. Anyone else planning to sail around that area this Friday or Saturday?

Re: extending the season a bit

Yes, I do have a heat pump, that is why I thought leaving it in heat mode just for a few days before I winterize the boat early in december may just be the easy, safest thing to do.

Thanks.

Thanks guys, that is helpful. The boat has a bit of a complicated fresh water circuit (my two heads are connected to fresh water, there is a deck shower,....) so, there is a bit of work involved in...

Re: Tell Me About Jeanneaus

I looked very hard at both, Jeanneau 409 and Beneteau Oceanis 41 and ended up choosing the B41. The J409 design seems a bit more seaworthy but the B41 offers better value, and has a roomier cabin...

Re: Liferaft on a Chesapeake charter boat

The 5K is the purchase cost of the cruising/safety package that is included in the boat purchase, not rented.

Re: Liferaft on a Chesapeake charter boat

Hard to say, the all chartering package is over 5K and includes everything. They gave an itemized breakdown for the contents but not prices... But all boat dealers charge about the same.

Re: "Buyer's Market" - any data to back it up?

Beneteau raised their prices 7% August 1. Their expenses have either skyrocketed or they see a shift in the market and want to increase their profit margins.

Re: Myrtle Beach, SC to Annapolis, MD

I am told it will be commissioned in Charleston, SC indeed. Looks like delivery will be delayed by a week or two with a planned hand out date around Oct 15th.
