That is for Class B Transponders, Class A Transponders transmit at 12.5W.....:)

Edit: Or to be more precise Class A transmits at 1W/12.5W Selectable....

Master: 0800 > 1200 & 2000 > 0000

Chief Officer: 0400 > 0800 & 1600 > 2000

Second Officer: 0000 > 0400 & 1200 > 1600

No different over here, frequent trips into the South Pacific requires the same as far as waterproofing goes. Normally my HDS lives on the helm but I would have no problems leaving the iPad there as...
