Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

You put it wherever it will be the safest with the least chance of CO2 getting inside the boat. Many power boaters put them on the swim platform to run them.
They come with an integrated gas tank...

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

regarding the Honda 2000, it's very expensive. It cost as much as the 8000 watt unit I bought for my house. However, it is extremely quiet and has an excellent reputation for reliability. it...

Re: Moisture on Boats

What did you surveyor say? It's really not that bad or...run?
My first boat had a really bad delamination area on the deck that our surveyor found. We went ahead with the purchase anyway. That...

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

Cannot agree more. The C-34 owners' website has to be one of the best around. Can't tell you how helpful it was during my boat search process and continues to be after 4 years of ownership.

Re: Music Etiquette at the Dock

If the music was barely audible in the cockpit, how can people across the fairway hear it?
Sounds like you had the volumn up a little too much.

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

My opinion...no, not a concern. Even though I bought a Catalina, I didn't hesitate to look at Pearson's and O'Day's as both were popular, well built boats and still in demand some years after both...

Re: Location of official hull number

Thanks for the follow up and letting us know. We knew it had to be there somewhere.
Make sure the number is somewhat accessible in case you are boarded by LEO and they want to see it.

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

Yes, you need to put feet on docks and start looking even if you don't buy for a year. Just browsing will give you some idea of things you like and things you don't like and you can start to narrow...

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

That's a good looking C30 and it's nice to see an ad where the poster knows how to take good photos. So many ads have pictures where the owner's crap is scattered all over the place.

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

No question IP makes a nice boat and definitely a step up from a Catalina...if you can find one affordable.

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

I'm no expert, but I doubt there are any boats that have rudders that are deeper than the keel.
I have a wing on my Catalina 34 and it draws just a little under 4'. I used to have a Catalina 30...

Re: Suggestions for 28-32 cruiser?

Don't even think about the inverter route unless you have a really SMALL AC unit AND plenty of battery power. Anyway, not a good idea.

Two options...an AC unit that can be run on a Honda 2000...

Re: Interested in buying a sail boat

One thing you have to keep in mind...high rent locations usually have high slip fees to go along with them. As mentioned above, before you do anything, check out local marinas where you might...

Agree you need to look at C-30's and yes, you can add AC to just about any boat.

Re: Warning!!!!!!

it's called CYA...cover your ass. They're there for the same reason my new oven had in the owner's manual, "Do not store gasoline in this appliance"

Re: Sailing around the world on a Catalina 22 sailboat

Guys, I boat on the lower Potomac where the bay is within sight.
There are times I won't venture out. Not that it couldn't handle it but no way would I take a C22 out there. The lower Potomac can...

Re: Sailing around the world on a Catalina 22 sailboat

Yes,
thousands of C-22's have been built and I'm sure very few actually sank due to very heavy seas. However, considering the typical owner of a C-22, how many actually were used where they would...

Re: Marine Air Conditioning Install

I've got a Catalina 34 that I put a 16k BTU AC unit in when I bought the boat 4 years ago. I believe the unit was about $2400 and $900 for the install which we were able to do on the cheap. I had...
