I searched this and decided to change my profile to the higher settings:
14.8V Charging and 13.6 Float.
This is up from :
14.7 and 13.4.

Small spark....no apparent loading. Meter was at 12.9, with solar slightly charging.

Lower tech than that.

The barrel pin is hollow and threaded....allowing for the bottom piece to thread up and into to lock. The ends are flat. No moving parts.
