It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

A nicly made CLC will be a constant pain in the azz to keep from damage. For rocky areas like that get a poly kayak instead. My current choice for camp cruising is a 14''6" Perception Carolina. My...

You sir, have a motorized condo.
Pick any length cat you want and they share commom traits only seen with multis. An 18'' Hobie and a 74'' cat share those traits. The only difference is wind and...

I pop in every now and then...the content is too biased toward racing boats for me to pipe in often.
Silmaril, good luck with your rudder repair. Marina repair yards are full of boats with skeg...

34'''' - 38'''' Coastal Cruiser - My wants vs. my needs.
You came to a message board where the local "experts" are of the race boat mentality. You have more experience than most of them. I wouldn''t let anything posted here sway you too much from buying a...

Thermostat for Atomic IV
But running a raw saltwater cooled engine at temps above 140F makes buildup in the cooling passages faster. High temps are for fwc.

catamarans & windvanes
I sailed on an old 36'' Piver ketch with a Hasler servo-pendulum vane. That vane wouldn''t react fast enough on a hard beat. It kept letting the port hull fly too high and made the stb hull want to...

kramer, you don''t know it yet but multihulls have the same traits. No matter what size, type, age, construction, captain or crew...power and sail.
Last but not least...The USCG uses monohulls...

Monohull vs cat on extended passage?
As it gets to the bottom you have one hull high and one hull low. The wave is pushing against both. The lower hull gets buried from extra weight and forward wave motion. In big waves it can trip and...

Use the coupling and don''t worry about it. Heavy rust is frequently seen on old boat couplings and they work fine. Just clean them up and paint. They have to be pitted REALLY bad to lose alignment...

I do it the same way as I32 but use galv wire. Galv wire reacts (electrolysis) less with the galv shackle, chain and anchor. I don''t know about monel but SS will eventually take the zinc off where...

You can go up around the Canaveral area and spend around $8 ft. Only problem is the 200 mile run north from Miami.

Strange keel zinc
That''s one way for bonding thru hulls, etc but a bad installation practice if the zinc can waste away and let water in. Many boats run wire inside the bilge to the motor and tap off it''s zincs....
